Feeling stuck or emotionally blocked in ways you can’t quite explain? Having difficulty in relationships with others or yourself?

You might be functioning on the outside, but inside something feels held back, confusing or difficult to shift. I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply, especially when relationships, identity, feelings or behaviour patterns seem stuck

For some, this shows up as difficulty expressing feelings, uncertainty about what they want, or a tendency to withdraw or overthink. For others, it is tied to earlier experiences of shame or not feeling fully accepted,  including around sexuality, gender or identity.

At the heart of my approach is creating a space where you can slow down, reflect and begin to understand what might be causing emotional difficulty and holding you back. Therapy can be a place to gently explore this, at your own pace.

About me

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. People come with different histories, patterns, and ways of relating, and our work needs to reflect that.

My work is insight-oriented and relational. I draw mainly from person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, which help us understand how past experiences, especially early relationships, continue to shape the present. Alongside warmth and acceptance, I offer gentle challenge where it’s helpful, supporting deeper understanding and emotional movement over time.

Before training as a therapist, I spent over 20 years working in music and performing arts education. Creativity,  individuality and self-expression are central to that work, and I bring the same ethos into therapy. Where it feels useful, I can integrate creative approaches, working with images or the senses as another way of exploring experience beyond words.

My practice is inclusive and open to people of all backgrounds, identities, and life stories. I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ clients. I am also one of the founders of the art+therapy collective Queer Spaces.

I trained at the University of Westminster (Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, Level 7) and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold a PhD in music from the University of London.

How I work

My approach is insight-oriented and relational. Together, we take time to explore your emotional world, your relationship patterns, and how past experiences continue to shape the present. I aim to offer a calm, thoughtful space, while also gently challenging what may be keeping you stuck.

This work is about developing understanding and emotional clarity, so that change can happen in a way that feels meaningful and grounded, rather than forced.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is for you' or you’ve found it hard to open up in the past, this kind of work can be a good place to start.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives you space to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, get a sense of how I work and ask any questions. We talk about how we might approach things together, so you can decide whether it feels right to continue.
